Seymour plans a monthly tin can drive on Tuesday June 15 with city street commissioner Henry J Moritz announcing the effort. Residents should place cans on curbs early Tuesday for pickup by the city and state highway department trucks. The collected cans will ship to a New Jersey company, totaling about thirty three tons. County salvage chair James H Hartsell notes prior collections were stored on South O Brien street ready for shipment to a war materials factory.

Italian POWs at Camp Atterbury Do Skilled Work

Airfield Worker Faces Charges in Wreck Near Seymour
Howard Basham of Columbus, 34, aider on an airfield project, is to be arraigned for operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated after a Tuesday night crash on Alternate U S 31 that injured two women and destroyed a car by fire. He allegedly left the scene. George E Miller, 32, was arrested for public intoxication. Mrs. Mabel Johnson and Mrs. Mary Green were treated for head and facial injuries. The couple rode with James Taylor. the crash occurred while en route to see a doctor. Continued on page 4 column 5. Funeral services for Otto L Ahlbrand, 61, Seymour businessman, will be held Friday at 1:30 from his residence and 2:00 at Emmanuel Lutheran Church. Burial in Lutheran Cemetery. Ahlbrand Chevrolet president and former supervisor of Ahlbrand Carriage Company died at noon Wednesday. He was a longtime Lutheran Church member.
