Seymour's city plan commission approved three requests after public hearings. An 8-0 vote vacated two eight foot easements to form a single unit with two other lots. Carter's zone change for 3.5 acres at U S 31 and 50 was approved 8-0. Vehslage's 1 617 acre tract subdivision near West Sixth Street Road passed 7-1 for a single dwelling site. Budget plan set $8 350 for next year including 1 500 for attorney fees.

Crime Bill Author to Attend Ninth District Conference
Congressman J Edward Roush author of a bill to create a national crime research center will attend the Ninth District Conference on Crime at 9 a m Saturday in the Seymour Senior High School auditorium. Lt. Col. Ralph Dale Schrenk, formerly of Seymour, serving with a United Nations peace keeping mission in Palestine, was reported safe after fighting erupted. He is now at Eskisehir Air Base in Turkey, a call to his mother said around noon, prompted by concerns from his sister and district congressman Lee H Hamilton.

Samuel Hall, 53, of Austin, died in a crash between his pickup and a semi at the intersection of Indiana 3 and Indiana 256 in Jefferson County near Madison. John T. Watson of Chicago, driver of the semi for a Speed, Indiana firm, was not injured.
