Planning body certifies improvement location ordinance in Seymour
At the June meeting the Seymour planning and zoning commission certified to the city council an improvement location ordinance. The measure was attached to an amended zoning ordinance but separated for study. Bel Aire subdivision near Alternate U S 7s and the Seymour Country Club faced final commission approval amid water drainage concerns from Marshall McKain and Walter Findley. Engineer Arthur M. Rucker defended grading and ponding changes, noting water now heads to the highway and a pond area reduction. Findley cited a covered drain tile needing remedy.

Rev Frederick to Leave First Presbyterian for New Post
The New Albany Presbytery approved dissolving the pastoral tie with Rev H Nathan Frederick who has led First Presbyterian since 1950. He will become Field Representative and General Presbyter for the Synod of Indiana and three southern Indiana presbyteries. Three Treated At Schneck Hospital
Two adults and an 11 year old girl were treated at Schneck Memorial Hospital for injuries from an accident. Mrs John Branham 58 North Vernon suffered a fracture when a window fell on her left arm admitted at 430 pm. S M Hotchkiss 40 Browns town was admitted at 8 am to remove a foreign body from his eye after an industrial accident and was released after treatment. Eleven year old Karen Brewer Wallonia daughter of Mr and Mrs Floyd Brewer injured her left elbow in a fall from a tree and was released after X rays.
