Delegates Named To Church Meets Four Quarterly Session
The First Evangelical United Brethren Church held its fourth quarterly meeting after prayer services to name delegates to two conferences. Rev. Kenneth P. Angle announced Mrs. Clella Davis as delegate to the annual conference with Ernest Taylor as alternate, and Mrs. Sarah Decker with alternate Mrs. Thelma Rhoades for the general conference. The annual conference runs August 15 to 20 at Maple Grove Camp in Huntingburg, and the general conference will be in Dayton, Ohio, in November. A general election of church officers is planned for July.

Seymour's fire department served its first call in 12 days on Thursday night to unplug an electric stove at 934 West Tipton Street home of Mr. and Mrs. Leonard L. Lewis. Mrs. Lewis reports no damage beyond stove wiring. Firemen had no complaints about the on duty vacation.

Two Accidents At Same Place Near Brownstown
Two crashes within an hour on U S Road 50 about one mile east of Brownstown injure two people and lead to arrests. Sgt. Forrest Brewer investigated both incidents. Delbert Bowman 27 and Elmer Bowman sustained minor injuries, Bowman cited for faulty brakes. The second collision involved Marchetta Cummings 24 and Roseanna Wrighthouse, no serious injuries reported.

Officials Say B-29 Shot Itself Down
A U S B-29 bomber crashed into the North Sea during gunnery practice off the Norfolk coast after bullets from its own 50 caliber guns struck the right outboard engine. Eleven crewmen bailed out. four bodies recovered and search continuing for four others. The Air Force cited safety-system failures but said normal precautions were taken. The plane was on a training mission from Fairfield, California.
