Driftwood asks for bonds for new community building
A petition signed by 259 property owners in Driftwood township, certified by James E. Cummings, county auditor, seeks bonds of 550 000 to fund a new community building for the Allonia schools. Trustee Francis Grider says 70 percent of local lawyers approved, with Woodward preparing site plans and a gymnasium floor to be included. township already holds a building fund of about 22 238.00 and expects annual additions near 10 000. The plan envisions the new facility adjacent to the present Shawswick school building.
