Mrs Marietta Wolka was granted a divorce from Ralph C E Wolka with custody of three daughters and a small son, alimony of 2250, attorneys fees of 500, and 30 monthly child support. Each party to pay own witness fees. Trial took five days under special judge E P Elsner. Perry Henderson pleaded guilty to possession of a still and was fined 250 plus 100 days at penal farm after a raid on June 6. Court term ends Saturday. no further circuit court until October.

John O Sprague about sixty four a former Jackson county resident died at his Evansville home 1708 East Mulberry street after several months illness. He taught in Freetown and nearby township schools and had lived in Sullivan county Indiana and Arkansas. He was born in Freetown son of Hiram and Molly Sprague both deceased and survived by his widow Ella Cross.

Motorist Hood Found Guilty in DUI Case
Orville Hood of Indianapolis was found guilty in city court of operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated. Mayor Stanley A. Switzer fined him $10 plus costs totaling $20 and suspended his driver’s license. Hood pleaded not guilty last Saturday after arrest by state police during a blockade at the junction of U S 31 and 50 and State Road 9 east of Seymour Friday night.

Rear Admiral Bruce Fraser said one of the four men who escaped from the submarine Thetis saw smoke inside the craft just before leaving the escape chamber. Cars Damaged In Collision West Of Seymour
Two cars sustained minor damage in a crash on U S Road 50 five miles west of Seymour about 7 30 p m Thursday. Drivers were Mrs Grace Eggersman and Rudy Kopernack. Eggersman pleaded guilty to reckless driving failing to have the right of way and was fined 1 and costs totaling 9 25. Police report says Eggersman tried to turn around on the highway and could not avoid the collision.

Harlan W. Wells admitted stealing a $16 Jackson County Welfare Check from a Seymour mailbox on January 16, 1937. He received a one to five year term in Indiana State Prison. Sheriff William VonDielingen planned to transport him that afternoon from Brownstown.
