A man entered her home by cutting the back screen, struck her, and attempted to strangle her with an apron while threatening to bomb the station. Det. Sgt. Donald E. Weekend crashes dot Seymour area causing pole damage and minor totals
Several weekend accidents occurred in Seymour and vicinity. A 1950 coach on Redding Road struck a telephone pole near Seymour inflicting about 800 dollars damage. no injuries. In two other incidents three autos suffered minor losses totaling 75 dollars. A hit and run on Vine Street damaged Norma Voss’s 1951 sedan. police traced the offending vehicle to Donald Garrison.

Crothersville Man Fined for Vehicle Taking
A 26 year old Crothersville man Ellis Campbell was fined $19 and costs and given a suspended six month sentence after pleading guilty to vehicle taking in Jackson Circuit Court before Judge John M. Lewis. The arrest followed his taking and returning James L. Thompson's car on Wednesday night.

Wilbur Scrivner reelected president spoke on goals for next year including a 30 voice chorus for Evansville and a Parade of Harmony for February 6.

Tragic Arizona Bus Crash Kills Sixteen Farm Workers
A converted bus carrying sixteen farm laborers, all Mexican nationals, collided with a tree near Phoenix and exploded. Thirty two others were injured, many seriously, as investigators said the driver dozed at the wheel. A Navy Regulus I launched from the submarine Barbero in the Atlantic landed at Mayport near Jacksonville Florida with 3000 letters including one to President Eisenhower. The submarine was at sea and the exact distance flown was not disclosed.

A 12-year-old Seymour girl Joyce Ann Feaster collapsed unconscious on the sidewalk before a music store in the 200 block of South Chestnut Street. Firemen and Officer Donald M. Winn administered oxygen and traffic aid as a private ambulance transported her to Schneck Memorial Hospital, where she later recovered and was released.

Salem Ind AP A four year old deaf boy Troy Hoggatt unlocked a locked revolver from a car trunk and fired at neighbor children Saturday night wounding Randy Hinton 5 and Dawn Short 10 critically while Ricky Hinton 6 was also hurt. Witness Curtis Hammond said the boy held the gun like a cap pistol. Troy who had watched his father at target practice will enter an Indianapolis school for the deaf this fall.
