Lorena Stalker, Peggy Kerkhof, and Welton Alberring were involved when a 1969 auto ran a red light at 6:41 a.m. causing a chain collision. Two passengers from the Stalker car were hospitalized with multiple injuries. damage totaled $2,700.

A Columbus man, Larry Whipker, 39, was shot once at 7:38 a.m. while working in a beef cooler at Stadler Packing Company. He received emergency surgery at Bartholomew County Hospital with a good chance of recovery. Preliminary assault and battery with intent to kill and firearms act charges were filed against Charles Anderson, 20, of 1455 Chestnut Street.

County plans fund use from revenue sharing

A kitchen grease fire at 3:45 p.m. Thursday caused about 1600 in damage to the home of Charles Blackburn at 201 Central Avenue Crothersville. Mrs Blackburn and her two children escaped unharmed as twelve volunteers fought the blaze for about an hour.
