Hoosier Wing Set to Return Friday From Vietnam Mission
The 71st Special Operations Squadron Reservists from Seymour will return Friday to Bakalar Air Force Base near Columbus after completing a year in Vietnam flying AC119 gunships. Three C141 Star lifters will bring 249 airmen, with named Seymour members aboard each arrival. The unit, known as The Shadow, conducted armed reconnaissance and close air support with an exemplary combat record and no casualties.

Bedford native promoted to first sergeant at Seymour District
State Police Superintendent Robert K Konkle announced the promotion of Sergeant James E Graves Bedford to first sergeant and executive officer at Seymour District. Graves joined the force as a trooper in 1957 and has served at Putnamville Bloomington and now Seymour. He assumes the post June 1 replacing John L Gastineau who was promoted to lieutenant and Indianapolis District commander.

How To Study Course Set At SSHS June 23
