Escapes of Iowa Prison Captured
Four longterm convicts who escaped from the Iowa Penitentiary at Fort Madison were captured in south central Iowa. Three fugitives were apprehended by highway patrolmen and a sheriff nine miles west of Aldia. The four include Girdler Jr., 23, of Peoria Illinois, stopped in a car near Tyrone, and Lloyd Woodson, 38, of Quincy Illinois, Albert Boeger, 26, of Kansas City, and Robert Jones, 24, of Cedar Rapids Iowa.

Man Pleads Guilty In Crothersville Vehicle Taking Case
A 26 year old Crothersville man, Ellis Campbell, pleaded guilty in Jackson Circuit Court after being arrested for vehicle taking. Judge John M. Lewis held punishment under advisement to Saturday and ordered Campbell returned to county jail. Campbell faces related charges in Scott Circuit Court and for contributing to the delinquency of a minor. The case followed his late Wednesday arrest by Trooper R. Wayne Hall after he allegedly stole a car from James Larry Thompson.
