Lovett Couple Killed In Auto Train Crash North Of Commiskey
A 71 year old couple from Lovett, Bess Shepherd and Charles Shepherd, died after their stalled car on a county road was struck by a Baltimore and Ohio freight train about one mile north of Commiskey. The train, traveling about 45 mph, stopped 35 cars past the crossing after the impact. Investigators cited a stalled vehicle on the crossing and noted skull fractures as the cause of death.
