Indiana Armory Project Receives Capital Approval
Final plans for a new National Guard Armory at Freeman Field have been approved in Washington. The Indiana National Guard office received a photostatic copy of the approval and blueprints, with bids to be solicited for a building costing about half a million dollars. The center plot covers 15 acres once used as parade ground during World War II. The state-owned facility will be available for civic events and will include classrooms, offices, a drill hall, kitchen, showers, and an indoor rifle range.

Two men jailed for fines released after payment
William D. Hall of Seymour Al was jailed Saturday in default of a 50 fine for public intoxication and released this morning after paying. Garvel Hall of Versailles Ky was jailed Saturday and released Sunday after friends paid his fine. Both were arrested early Saturday on city streets.

One-Third of Drivers Lapses Prompt License Check

Dog Chasing Rabbit Blamed For One Car Mishap
A dog chasing a rabbit across Honeytown road two miles north of Brownstown caused a single vehicle crash Sunday night. Dan Kinworthy Jr. said his 1952 coach swerved after braking on a wet road, striking a utility pole. no injuries but $50 damage to the car.

Woman Furnished Alcohol To Minor Fined In Brownstown
Delores Bryan, 23, Brownstown R2, was fined in Brownstown city court after pleading guilty to furnishing alcohol to a 16 year old and driving without a license. Mayor Isaacs imposed 15 dollars plus 15 costs for the liquor charge and 5 dollars plus 15 costs for the license count. The youth was sent to juvenile court. Police stopped her when she was observed driving with only one lit headlamp on West Second Street.

Cool Weather Forces Early Close at Seymour Pool
Extremely cool weather trims activity at Seymour Municipal Swimming Pool Shields Park. Water held at 62 degrees Sunday as about 50 swimmers left early and manager Joe D Gill closed the pool at 3 PM after two hours. The pool ran 1 to 3 PM Friday and Saturday and closed Thursday 8 PM after 500 swimmers. Memorial Day opening brought 740 swimmers, the largest crowd so far.
