Volunteers from across Jackson County search White River near Mooneytown for Cletus Carr 23 of Seymour who drowned Sunday afternoon while swimming with relatives. Carr, a bookkeeper at Williams Auto Supply, disappeared between Ewing Bridge and James Crabb place after a picnic and fishing outing. Turn to page 6 column 7.

Two Fined After Accidents Here
Edgar Royal Allman, Cortland Al, pleaded guilty in city court to operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated. He was fined $50 and costs of $11.75 and his license recommended suspended 90 days after a Saturday night arrest for a collision with a guard rail on St. Louis Avenue.

Soldiers Are Found Guilty on Charges in Seymour Court
Two soldiers were found guilty after a Seymour city court trial before Mayor Donald L. Heiwig. Norman E. Whitlock, 22, from Nicholasville Kentucky, on leave from Camp Atterbury hospital, received a $50 fine and $11.75 costs, plus a one year suspension of Indiana driving privileges for reckless driving. He was also fined $10 and $10 costs for disorderly conduct. Homer Howard, 20, Austin Route 2, was fined $10 and $10 costs for disorderly conduct. They were arrested Thursday night and had pleaded not guilty Friday morning.

Summer Music Classes Begin at Shields Memorial Gym
Summer classes in instrumental music began today under Frank Cofield with six weeks of instruction. Courses include intermediate and advanced groups and junior band, plus a remedial class. After a rugged night of wind and rain, 25 Seymour Troop 26 scouts, nine from Seymour Troop 2, and three from Brownstown Troop 10 braved the weather to finish a camporee at the Jackson County Fair Grounds. Troop 26 beat Troop 2 41 4 in a Saturday baseball game. The Beaver patrol of Troop 2 won best and closest camp site. Daniel Judkins and county conservation officer Ivan Thompson aided in staging the event.

National Guard Area Inspected at Camp Grayling Michigan
