Rites Held for Norman Pioneer Clarence E. Cummings
Funeral services for Clarence E. Cummings, 67, Norman store operator, were conducted at Norman Christian Church by Rev. John A. Phelps. Burial followed at Mundell Cemetery. Cummings died after a heart attack suffered Saturday night, after an auction he conducted at his store. He was born November 27, 1879, and survived by a widow Lena and several children, siblings, and grandchildren.

Harvey J Persinger Dies at Medora at 55
Harvey J Persinger 55 died at his Medora home Tuesday afternoon after a nine day illness. Funeral services will be 2 pm Thursday at the Medora Christian Church with Rev John A Phelps in charge. Burial in Guthrie Creek Cemetery. Survived by widow Della May Williams two daughters Mary Lou and Sharon Ann Persinger two brothers James and Chester Arthur Persinger and three sisters Mattie Gilbert Amanda Shepherd Elizabeth Reynolds. He was born April 3, 1892 in Washington county and a World War I veteran member of the American Legion.

The House cut funds by about 50 percent and the Senate may vote near the fiscal year end. Man Gets Days on Driving Charge

Steamer Emperor Sinks Off Isle Royale With 12 Dead
In fog on Lake Superior the 7000 ton steamer Emperor struck a rock near Passage Island light and sank. Twelve crewmen were drowned and three bodies remained missing. twenty one survived and were taken to Ft. Williams. The ship carried 35 crew, no passengers, and was en route from Port Arthur to Ashtabula with iron ore.
