Wild Auto Drive Ends in Disaster West of City
A touring car driven by Ralph J. Gainey of Bedford crashed into a Paige ice cream truck driven by Milburn Hunsucker west of Hangman’s Crossing on the Brownstown road. Gainey and James Currie were badly injured, with Gainey transported to St. Vincent’s Hospital in Indianapolis for specialist care. Currie was expected to recover at Bedford, while Hunsucker escaped with minor injuries and heavy vehicle damage was sustained on both machines.

Touring Car Ditches West of Seymour After Steering Bolt Loosened
Walter R. Ganstine and wife Mrs. Ganstine escaped injury with a minor facial cut when a steering bolt failed on their Ford touring car near Cranehill six miles west of Seymour. The car swung into a five foot ditch, top and some parts damaged, axle and radius rods bent. They were taken to Brownstown then Medora. They were en route to North Vernon to visit relatives and spilled a jar of raspberries on the rear seat.

Veterans Bureau official to interview ex servicemen in Seymour
John H. Ale sub district manager of the United States Veterans Bureau in Indianapolis will visit Seymour Thursday to interview Jackson county ex service men about compensation vocational training and government insurance. He will be in the American Legion club rooms over Progressive Music store. This marks a second recent visit by a Veterans Bureau representative to help with adjustments. Mrs M T Ground from the state headquarters assisted May 24 and 25 interviewing 60 to 75 men and advancing their claims.
