Jackson county housewives face a two way push to shift to less costly cuts as OPA unveils new red point values. Beginning Sunday beefsteaks rise to 11 or 12 points per pound from 7 to 9, while leaner cuts fall to 12 points for round and flank.
Richard Baurle aged 79, retired wallpaper store proprietor, died at 708 East Tipton Street at 4:05 this morning after a yearlong illness. He was born in Baden Germany September 11, 1863, married Maggie Vogel in 1889, and is survived by four children John Baurle Nicholas Baurle Anna Baurie and Rose Baurie, plus twelve grandchildren. He was a member of St. Ambrose Church.
Raymond S. McKeough urges care when applying for War Ration Book Three in Seymour region. He lists instructions for filling forms, mailing flat with a three cent stamp, and keeping the identification stub. Post offices will distribute forms until June 10. late postmarks delay processing.

Virl L. Green thirty four residing on Austin Road 1 is held in Jackson County jail at Brownstown awaiting arraignment in Jackson Circuit Court on a charge of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of intoxicating liquor.
