He served two terms as city councilman and was a member of the Jackson county tax board. Funeral set for 3 pm Saturday at Voss Mortuary with burial in the Lutheran Cemetery.

Henry C. Montgomery former superintendent of Seymour public schools from 1892 to 1909 died at his Hanover home after months of illness. Born May 31 1857 in Redding township he advanced from rural schools to Butler College Hanover College and University of Michigan before returning to Seymour as assistant principal then principal and later superintendent. His work included organizing a library and aiding a building grant.

Drunk Driver Is Given Sentence
Robert Miller aged thirty eight colored of Louisville pled guilty to operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated in Seymour city court. Mayor C W Burkart fined him 10 plus costs 20 and sentenced him to thirty days at the penal farm. Miller was arrested about 11 oclock Friday night on U S Road 31 near Krietes curve southeast of Seymour after reports his car forced other vehicles to avoid a collision. He was held in city jail Wednesday night.
