Funeral services were held at 2 pm from the Tower Funeral Home for infant Robert Gerald Williams son of Olen Carroll and Dorothy Anne McNeal Williams of 625 East Seventh Street. Lieutenant John C. O'Donnell and crew survived a 35 minute air battle over Lea New Guinea after the suspected left engine failed. The bomber fought four Japanese zeros with one engine and four gunners shooting down three to four as they returned to base. The ship landed safely despite a punctured left tire and damage to the tail.

Dr Wehrly Dies After Pneumonia in Ohio
Dr W H Wehrly Methodist minister of Springfield Ohio died Saturday night in a Toledo hospital after pneumonia illness. He formerly served as district superintendent of the Methodist Church in Cincinnati twenty years ago.
