Man builds ark plans voyage from Ohio to Gulf of Mexico
Seymour resident Merle Thompson 48 plans to launch his 60 foot ark the Missy T from Madison Ohio on Tuesday June 4 and sail 1500 miles to Clearwater Florida to visit his mother. Thompson started the project July 18 1970 with son Jim real estate agent Bob Ogilvie and Vern Phillips of Laguna Beach onboard. They will traverse the Ohio River down the Mississippi to the Gulf.
