County Christian meeting draws all Jackson churches
Fifteen out of fifteen Christian churches in Jackson county were represented at a Sunday county meeting at Freetown Christian Church. Rev. R. S. Wilson of Central Christian Church delivered the main address. H. R. Noe of the local church chaired and presided. The session lasted all day. The next association meeting is set for the fifth Sunday in August at Surprise Christian Church.

State Police at Seymour Post 7 conducted concentrated patrols across the Memorial Day holiday. Officers Frank B. Gray and Calvin J. Tucker worked at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway while others patrolled highways including U.S. Road 31 between Indianapolis and Jeffersonville. An arrest for reckless driving occurred. David Leslie of Louisville was fined 39.60 in Franklin for speeding on U.S. Road 31. Traffic was heavy but drivers mostly remained careful, according to officers.
