Bannister Pleads Guilty to Charges in Jackson Circuit Court
Lloyd Bannister pleaded guilty to possession of liquor and manufacture charges at his arraignment before Judge James A. Cox in Brownstown. He received a sentence of one to five years in state prison and was remanded to the county jail with bond set at 1500 total. Lonnie Barnes also pleaded not guilty to related charges. Albert Moore likewise pleaded not guilty and remained jailed awaiting trial.

Former B and O Fireman Dies in Toledo
The body of John A. Ritter, once a Baltimore & Ohio fireman here, will be brought to Seymour for burial in Riverview cemetery. Services are by the Knights of Pythias. Ritter, about 58, was born in Virginia, moved to Seymour in youth, later managed T and C C yards in Toledo, and died at his home after an on duty injury left him paralyzed. He is survived by his widow and a son Clarence.

Fire call ruins dinner for local firefighters
