Pump Operator Retires After 26 Years at Seymour Water
Howard S. Green, longtime pump operator at Seymour Water Company's Rockford station, retires after 26 years. He received a framed Certificate of Appreciation from W. Howard Hopkin of Louisville. Green recalls a Feb ice jam that nearly halted the dam’s turbine, then he switched to electric pumps to keep water flowing. He, 65, plans fishing, gardening, and travel with wife Gladys at 214 South Poplar Street.

Seymour Youth Injured In Pile-Up Near City
Riordan of 906 South Walnut Street was hurt in a crash on Ind 11 about 0.8 mile south of Seymour. He suffered a head laceration and a facial cut after his car left the road, flipped end over end, and struck a soft spot in a ditch at 12 45 a m. State troopers reported the driver left scene and investigations noted one drive shoe at the site.
