Fire Burns Home Of Seymour Family Of Eight
English born mother and six children escaped a furniture loss after a fuel oil stove exploded at 706 West Laurel Street in Seymour Monday afternoon. Firefighters fought the blaze 2:37 p.m. as interior flames consumed the home. Red Cross seeks help for the family’s clothing and furniture needs.

Robertson’s Special Term Ends Tonight in Jackson County
Jonathan J. Robertson will end his term as special prosecuting attorney for Jackson County at midnight tonight after serving since his appointment by Judge John M. Lewis. The Indiana Supreme Court ruled that Christopher D. Moritz could not serve until admitted to the bar. The official order notes Robertson’s distinguished service and terminates the appointment effective end of 1963.

Auto Mishap On I 65 Near Jonesville Junction
Mrs. Walter Bishop of Seymour drove a 1959 four door sedan south toward the Seymour exit when it veered right, struck a highway sign, and jumped a guard rail on Interstate 65. The car slid down an embankment and rested 150 feet from the road. She escaped serious injury and was treated at Schneck Memorial Hospital. Damage estimated at $1,000. Trooper Robert O. Stanley investigated.

U S Air Force Pulling 3 500 Men From Japan
The U S Air Force will transfer 3 500 personnel and 78 aircraft from Japan to the United States. The move includes the last operational B57 bomber wing and follows negotiations with Japan under the security treaty.
