Several recent accidents in the vicinity were reported and arrests made for alleged traffic violations. Thurman Gumm of Crothersville was fined five dollars plus costs in Seymour justice court for failure to yield right of way following a crash on South Walnut Street at its intersection with McDonald Street. Survived by five brothers Roland Vermont Ohio Rowland in Europe Raymond in the South Pacific Billie and Bobbie Joe at home and three sisters Louise Reynolds Laverne Henry Crothersville R1 and Loraine Berry Austin. Funeral arrangements will be announced later.

Rites Held for Train Victim Floyd Fewell
Rites were held in North Vernon for Floyd Fewell of North Vernon husband of Mrs. Mary Virginia Coryea Fewell a granddaughter of Mrs. Prudence Coryea. Fewell was crushed and suffered a fractured skull when he fell beneath a Baltimore and Ohio train at Stores near Cincinnati early Saturday. His father in law Maurice Coryea of North Vernon was in charge of the train and pulled him from beneath the freight car. Fewell had served in the U S Army and returned to railroad work after discharge and was married last August.

Funeral services for 74 year old John H. Stuckwisch were held today from his home and Sauers Lutheran Church with Rev J Th Destinon in charge. He died after a five day illness of pneumonia. Burial was in Sauers Lutheran Cemetery. Surviving are six sons, one daughter, thirteen grandchildren, a brother and two sisters. He was a farmer and Sauers Church member.
