Frank Allen, 20, of New Albany Indiana shot and killed Police Officer Frank Knoebel, 40, in Madison. After a confrontation at the Odd Fellows hall Allen was overpowered by janitor Arch Monroe and Stewart, and taken to jail. Knoebel leaves a father and young son.

Mrs. Delia Wineinger Dies at 45 in Brownstown
Mrs. Delia Wineinger of 608 East Second Street died at 4 30 this morning after a four year illness. Funeral at home Friday at 2 with Rev Homer Smith officiating. Burial in Acme cemetery. Born November 22 1885 in Freetown she was married September 26 1904 to Cleveland Wineinger who survives with three sons Harold Harry and Cleveland Jr a daughter Doris May and two sisters Mrs John Anderson and Mrs Lottie Musser. She was a Pentecostal church member.

Rabid Dog Bite Sends Crothersville Man For Treatment
Horace Moore of Crothersville is undergoing rabies prevention treatment at Dr. P A Kendall after a dog bit him on the third finger as he entered a Crothersville lunchroom. Aiding worker Allen Thomas tried to fend off the animal, which was killed by Crothersville marshal Sampson Mitchell. The dog head was sent to the State Board of Health in Indianapolis and the state report confirms rabies.

Five troops in the Hoosier Hills Council Boy Scouts of America have earned points in the council wide achievement contest. Troop 10 of Reddington leads with 82 points, while troops 23 and 24 are tied at 30 points each. Troop 3 has 20 points and Troop 38 has 10. Salem Ind December 31 an early morning raid today on the hamlet of Little York in northern Washington county failed to locate Dan and Alonzo Gibson who with brothers Odie and Gilfred attacked the jail seeking vengeance for the murder of their father. Odie was killed, town marshal Elmer Geralde seriously wounded, Gilfred captured. Dan and Alonzo eluded posses through the county hills.
