Scottsburg Teen Killed In Rainy Night Crash
A Scottsburg boy 15 died Monday night when a 1970 Chevrolet with a fellow teen passenger lost control on Allen Street, struck a tree and caused internal injuries. Scott D. McClellan died at Clark County Memorial Hospital at 9 50 p m. Gary Rose, 15, was treated for neck pains and released. The crash remains under investigation by Scottsburg police.

The U S Court of Appeals granted a stay allowing a rate rise to 13 cents for letters and 9 cents for postcards effective Wednesday. A district judge had blocked an earlier Sunday start. The Postal Service faces payroll pressure and ongoing losses as other rate hikes apply to second class bulk and parcel post. No Injuries From Three Traffic Mishaps Police Report
Police investigated three traffic accidents Monday and today causing 1735 dollars in property damage. Dennis W. Ryan 24 of Columbus drove a 1974 two door auto that left Indiana 258 west of Cortland and hit a road sign. He was not injured. A separate two car crash on North O'Brien Street caused 425 dollars damage to Rhonda Marshall's 1974 two door auto and 10 dollars to Stan Brown's 1973 four door auto. Both drivers reported icy roads and no injuries. A third accident at Sixth and Pine streets damaged Bertha Perry's 1968 auto and Russell Halderbrand's 1966 car with reported injuries none.
