Effie M. Hustedt 71 died Thursday night at her daughter’s home in Lafayette after long residence in Seymour. Wife of J. W. Hustedt, funeral director, she was born in Cortland July 30 1878 and married in 1903. B and O Bridge Section Replaced Quickly Near Bedford
Construction crews replaced a full bridge span on the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad over the east fork of White River near Bedford without interrupting traffic through Seymour. The operation drew many spectators as tracks were lifted and a new 80 000 pound span set in about two hours, with slightly over three hours between trains. Engineers had prepared the project for three weeks and claimed a time record.

Jackson County Bus Drivers May Appeal Unsafe Vehicle Findings
During the Indiana Township Trustees Association meeting in Indianapolis Jackson county school bus drivers may file appeals of bus safety findings. State Police Superintendent Arthur M. Thurston said appeals may be filed by February 5 prior to the deadline to repair or replace buses deemed unsafe. James H. Police Still Search For Austin Robbers
Police continue the search for armed robbers who early Thursday morning held up the Scott County Service Station at Austin, taking $135 from attendants Lynn Craig and Albert Foster. The duo were forced into Craig’s 1949 car and driven to State Road 56 west of Scottsburg before being released. the abandoned vehicle was found nearby. No trace of the robbers has been located.

About 350 spectators attended a junior and senior scout indoor track meet in Shields High School girls gym. New Radio to Be Installed In Fire Truck
Seymour approves a private donation to install a new radio in a fire truck with delivery expected in about 90 days. The project completes a two year upgrade making Seymour’s radio system among the best in the state including a five frequency FM station in the police department and a two way set in the patrol car. About 2400 dollars has been raised by local citizens led by a committee including Don Coy and Ed.

Funeral services for Mrs. Ella Frances Wever 85 of the Fairview community will be held Friday at 2 pm from the Fairview church with burial in Fairview cemetery. She died Wednesday night after a year of ill health. Born in Ohio August 29, 1864 she was the daughter of Jacob and Rachel Ann Gerhart Burford. Surviving are her stepson Thomas Wever Roy B Wever a son four brothers three grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

State penal farm sentence for Crothersville man
