City to rent its street sweeper to state highway commission
A contract between the city of Seymour and the Indiana state highway commission will allow the state to rent Seymour’s street sweeper at six dollars per hour. Officials expect about one hundred dollars monthly from usage on streets carrying state and federal highways. The commission plans a new sweeper but delivery is not anticipated until late next year. Streets affected include Tipton street Route 50 Alternate Road 31 Broadway East Fifth Street Ewing Street north of Fifth Street South Walnut Street State Road 11 and Sixth Turn.

Jesse E. Arbuckle of Goshen, 24, was recaptured near Underwood by Seymour state police officers Francis E. Simmons and Joseph S. Watson after a tip led them to a farmhouse. Arbuckle had escaped Tuesday from Sgt. Walter Jones during a transfer from Plymouth to Louisville for an armed liquor store robbery charge.
