Funeral services for Mrs. Sarah Ellen Berry 59 of 1422 Naomi Street Indianapolis will be held Wednesday at 2 PM at Crothersville Methodist Church. Burial will be in the Methodist cemetery. She died Sunday after a lingering illness. She was born December 29 1888 in Jennings County and married to Clarence Berry on June 3 1911. Eight children survive including Junior Berry whose overseas burial is pending after being killed in World War II. Also surviving are Mrs. Laura McCoskey Mrs. Naomi Richey Mrs. Geneva Copeland Emmett Berry and Melvin Berry plus two sisters Mrs. May Banister Mrs. Jeanette Johnson and Mrs. Hazel Taskey.

Mrs Clenna Zollars Williams 45 died at her Seymour R4 residence this morning after a four year illness. Born April 11 1902 in Shoals Ind she was married Jan 27 1920 to Clyde Williams who survives. Also surviving are three children two daughters in law and four grandchildren with cremation at Voss Mortuary and burial Riverview Cemetery. Funeral set for Thursday at 2 PM with calling hours Wednesday afternoon.

Fire damaged the roof and attic of a frame residence at 1027 West Jackson Street, home of Seymour city councilman Paul B. Gregory and his family. Investigators say a spark on the shingle roof ignited a valley, spreading beneath the roof until discovered. Insurance covered the loss. a later call to 420 South Chestnut Street found no blaze. A neighbor sighting a lit candle triggered the alarm.

Taylorsville Man Fatally Beaten in Filling Station Robbery
James F. Pelley, about 70, was found severely beaten at his Taylorsville filling station five miles north of Columbus and died soon after in Columbus hospital. Sheriff Thayer said the victim likely died from head injuries after a night break in through a rear window. Pelley reportedly took about 500 dollars with him this morning. the money was missing.
