Crashes Leave One Dead and Six Hurt in Jackson County
A Chicago man, Paul W. Howard, 43, died at Scottsburg’s Napper Hospital after a northbound coach struck a bridge rail and skidded, ejecting Howard and his mother, Mary Howard, 73, who sustained minor injuries. Two others suffered minor abrasions. one driver was fined for a traffic violation. The crash occurred near the Jersey bridge north of Crothersville on J. S. Road 31.

Body Found of Man Missing Since November in Muncie Quarry

Funeral Rites Held For Former Seymour Resident
Funeral services for Frank Hamilton Baker of Kansas City Missouri former Seymour resident were held this afternoon in Kansas City. He died at his home there Friday born in Seymour in 1870 eldest son of Mr and Mrs James Baker. He lived in Seymour in youth before moving to Kansas City in 1889 where he worked and resided until death returning to Seymour for visits. Survivors include sister Miss Clara Baker and two nieces Mrs Robert Shirk of Kansas City and Mrs Harold Martens of Clearwater Florida.

State police planned tests today on an adult skeleton found Sunday in a yellow pins box floating in the Ohio River near Aurora Indiana. Coroner James F Treen said the box contained a skull teeth and other body parts and noted decomposition had left the bones fragile when handled.
