Otis Ferguson of this city pleaded not guilty to a charge of issuing a fraudulent check. He appeared before Sey mour justice of peace William Tuell and was sent to Jackson county jail in Brownstown awaiting trial. Ferguson was arrested Thursday night at West Baden by Constable Clarence E. Davis on a warrant issued from Tuell. The warrant was signed by Will H. Hughes, manager of the J. C. Penney Company store here, for a five dollar check. He was held in the city jail until arraignment.
