The Seymour board of public works and safety signed a railroad crossing improvement agreement with the B&O Rail Road. Work to begin in 1978 covers Walnut street St Louis avenue Chestnut Poplar Jeffersonville and O'Brien streets with 10 percent local cost. SIECO coordinated the project under supervision by the Indiana State Highway Commission.

Brownstown Motorist Injured In City Collision
A Brownstown motorist Debbie L. Anthony 21 was injured Wednesday afternoon when her 1969 sedan collided with a 1974 sedan driven by Stephen B. Brown 36 at the Tipton and Walnut streets intersection. Anthony suffered cuts to her right hand and elbow and was taken to Jackson County Memorial Hospital. The mishap occurred at 3 30 p m as Brown was eastbound on Tipton and Anthony westbound. Estimated damage was 800 to each vehicle.
