Cortland area residents will switch to automatic dial service at 9 am Friday after ITC acquisition from Citizens Mutual. Six parties per line on the new system, rates similar to Seymour, towns Seymour and Jackson in Bartholomew County served, Kellogg switchboard retired with 15 cords.

Local Woman Dies Instantly In Seymour Accident
Doris Hazelette 35 of Seymour died at 2:55 a m when her 1966 model car left South O'Brien Street Road struck a tree and a Public Service Indiana pole. The vehicle rolled and she was thrown about 50 feet, not wearing a seat belt. State police report 1965 traffic deaths at 1,486 statewide and 88 in the eight-county Seymour district for the year. funeral services set for 10 a m at Voss Chapel.

Pfc Lauster Wounded in Viet Nam Informant Letter
Pfc Michael R. Lauster 22 of Seymour was shot in the upper right leg while serving in South Viet Nam. He is based at An Khe and is a helicopter maintenance man. He is recovering at Qui Nhon hospital with an expected four weeks stay and six weeks' sick leave anticipated. His wife Pamela of 221 East Fifteenth Street and his parents, Mr. and Mrs. H G Lauster, 1123 North O'Brien Street, have been informed. Another Seymour serviceman, Marine Lance Corporal Jack D. Reynolds, 21, was wounded in the spine on December 5 and is at Great Lakes hospital.
