John Patrick and Roger Smith of this city waived arraignment on a disorderly conduct charge. Their attorney Edward S. Lustig entered not guilty pleas. Mayor C. W. Burkart set a trial for 4 o clock Tuesday and released them to their attorney. The charge stems from a disturbance at a tavern on Indianapolis Avenue Friday night filed by Gregory Ashcraft.

Funeral services for 72 year old Mrs. Lucy M. Sweany of Crothersville were held at the Crothersville Baptist Church with Rev. Walter Moseley and Rev. Marvin Ashlock presiding. Burial followed in Crothersville Cemetery. She died Saturday at her Crothersville home. Born June 15, 1875 in Jennings County, she was married March 20, 1894 to Sheridan Sweany who preceded her in death. Surviving are four children Edna Bell of California Clark Sweany of Shelbyville Esther Lett and Clyde Sweany of Crothersville a brother Perry Deputy of Columbus and a sister Lula Wetzel of an Austin rural route.

Funeral Rites Held For Kenneth McCurdy
Funeral rites for Kenneth McCurdy, 49, who died Friday night at Hines Veterans Hospital were held at Hines today. Cremation followed and ashes were laid to rest at Arlington Cemetery, Washington. He was a Shields High School graduate and Purdu e University alumnus, served in World War I, and had recent treatment at the Veterans Hospital. Surviving are his widow Corinne Kramer, a daughter, two sons, his parents Mr. and Mrs. J. F. McCurdy of Columbus, and a sister Mrs. Harry Barton of Columbus, Ohio.

Seymour Men Hurt in Mishap Near Columbus
Two Seymour men were injured when their 1947 model cars crashed on Alternate U S Route 31 near Cornbrook. E Morton Lester, 33, had head cuts and a demolished car. Ralph Mike Cline, 27, was fined $50 and his license suspended for six months after pleading guilty to operating under the influence. Police seek a third vehicle involved.

Weekend Accidents Claim Few Victims in Indiana
Bright weekend sunshine cut traffic deaths to two in Indiana with two others dying outside the state. Andrew Short, 69, of Columbia City, and Ira Meadows, 66, were injured after a Nickel Plate Railroad freight train hit their car near South Whitley. Mary B. Robertson, 22, of Anderson, died after a crash on Indiana 54 near Sullivan. Norma Lee Green, 2, of Aurora, died when a truck struck a tree on U S 25 near Richmond Kentucky. Gladys Nichols, 43, of Highland, died in St Louis hospital from injuries suffered when a car overturned near St Louis. Rudy Nichels, 48, was slightly hurt in that crash.

Funeral services were held for William Schildknecht 45 of North Vernon at Kovener Funeral Home Crothersville conducted by Rev Landry Uniontown Baptist Church. Burial followed in Uniontown Cemetery. Schildknecht died suddenly Saturday at North Vernon. A native of North Braddock Pennsylvania born January 21 1902 he moved here ten years ago and was a Baltimore and Ohio Railroad fireman. He married Mada Greathouse January 21 1939 and survived by four children, a widow, a brother and a sister.

Injured Man Improves After Tractor Rim Accident
Injured man Ted Henkle of East Second Street, critically hurt last Tuesday in a shed near Sears, Roebuck and Company farm store on St. Louis Avenue, is reported to be improving at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. He was moved there by ambulance after initial treatment at Schneck Memorial Hospital. An operation at Indianapolis removed a bone splinter from a fractured skull caused by a rim flying from a tractor tire as he inflated it.

Vittorio Emanuele III Dies in Exile in Alexandria
Vittorio Emanuele III, 78, the exiled king who aided Mussolini and saw Italy become a republic, died of pneumonia at his Alexandria villa. Elena, his 74 year old wife, was by his side.
