Jackson County plans a 1963 voting purge and will mail notices to citizens who did not vote in the 1962 primary or general elections. Return cards within 30 days to avoid registration cancellation. address changes require in person visit to update precincts. The purge aims to remove moved or deceased voters from the rolls.
An 18 year old Seymour R3 youth was cited for reckless driving after a two car crash on Fifth street near Chestnut. The same 1961 coach driven by Gene Hackman previously damaged in a Monday crash at Ewing and Fourth streets.
SAC Bombers will conduct simulated bombing missions in southern Indiana starting January 1. B-47 B-52 and B-58 aircraft will operate subsonically along a 10 mile wide corridor from Hazard Kentucky to Bicknell Indiana with radar bomb scoring by the RBS Express train. No bombs are dropped and routes are limited to avoid populated areas. The train, staffed by about 65 Air Force personnel and civilian crews, moves to new locations to simulate different targets.
In Jackson County and Indiana, aliens must report their addresses by January 31 to the Immigration and Naturalization Service or local post offices. About 90 to 100 address cards were issued by Seymour post office last January. Noncompliance can lead to custody or deportation with possible fines. Last January 27 817 aliens reported in Indiana.

In a separate incident thirteen year old Robert Edwards received outpatient care for second degree burns on his left forearm at about 7 p m while filling a cigarette lighter at home.
City police officer Charles O. Koerner, who handles parking meter collections, reports meters frozen by ice. He cannot unlock or insert keys to remove revenue this week and fears meters may fill up before next Monday if no thaw occurs. Tickets will still be issued for unpaid meters and meters are checked before tickets are issued.
