Judge a 22 year old Indianapolis signalman who drowned December 7 after slipping from an icy trestle near Rockford The effort includes Jackson County conservation officer Ivan Thompson Clyde Keller and others who plan to probe below the New Ford bridge west of Seymour and lift drift piles with hooks and 100 foot cables for the body.

Man Fined and Given 120 Days on Charge
Marvin James Stone of Huron South Dakota who had lived in Seymour about two and a half months pleaded guilty to public intoxication in city court before Mayor Donald L Herwig. He was fined 10 dollars and costs totaling 20 dollars and sentenced to 120 days at the state penal farm not suspended. It was his second public intoxication arrest since moving to Seymour and he was taken into custody Tuesday night.

Seymor Chamber enforces Wednesday afternoon store closings
Stores affiliated with the Seymor Chamber of Commerce resumed Wednesday afternoon closures today and will continue every Wednesday afternoon. Downtown parking meters were not enforced during closures. Most shops stay open until 9 PM on Saturday, December 30, per Chamber policy.

Albert E. Theele announces the Jackson County Artificial Breeding Association will convene Monday morning January 8 at the Majestic Theater in Seymour. The 10 o clock session includes roll call, election of three directors, and business. Frank DeLaCroix of Purdue University will deliver the main address on dairy herd improvement and Indiana calf breeding progress. He notes 60,000 cows bred artificially in Indiana in 1950, a figure representing under 10 percent of all cows bred to proven dairy bulls.

Family Routed by Fire Being Aided
A Crothersville R2 family of seven was displaced Friday night after a fire destroyed their home of Mr and Mrs Wilbur Turner and most belongings. The children Louise 14 Marie 10 Robert 13 Dewey 12 and Havis 9 are with relatives as neighbors and merchants aid the family. The Jackson County Chapter of the American Red Cross issued clothing and household goods orders to assist in rehabilitation.

Army to Call up 7500 Reserve and Guard Officers
The Army will call up 7500 junior officers from national guard and organized reserve units for duty starting in March. It also plans to activate 890 medical officers, 850 dental officers, and 415 medical service corps officers, reporting February 5 and March 15. The Navy plans reservist releases next summer.

Rites for Mrs Reed to Be Held Friday
Funeral services for Amy B. Reed 66 registered nurse and night supervisor at Schneck Memorial Hospital will be at 10 Friday from Voss Mortuary with Rev. William Allen officiating. Burial will be in Crown Hill Cemetery Indianapolis. Mrs Reed died Tuesday after a six day illness. She lived on Cortland R1 and was born April 2 1884 in Alfordsville. Survived by husband Chester Reed, a son, a stepson, two brothers Wilbur Allen Valparaiso and William Allen Kalamazoo, Mich., and three sisters Alta Long Beuna Schildmeier Indianapolis and Clarice Wildman New Castle.
