A Sunday fire damaged the Oakley Allen residence, while firefighters saved club property. Directors will meet to plan temporary facilities and a new clubhouse, with no loss estimate yet set. Reading Sets New Low Mark On Two Nights
The frigid blast moved into Seymour Saturday night and was exiting today. Christmas night saw a low of eight degrees above zero, repeating Sunday night. Saturday high reached 30, Sunday 25, as the season’s first heavy snow coated the area. An inch fell Friday morning, with heavier snowfall Thursday night. Slippery roads cleared by Friday afternoon and no major accidents occurred.

Automobiles Slightly Damaged in Crashes
Two minor accidents were reported to city police over the holiday with total damage about 135 dollars. A 1940 sedan driven by Lessley Sterling collided with a 1947 sedan owned by Francis Jordan at Walnut and Tipton during snow. A 1941 coach and a 1935 light sedan collided on Brown and Walnut streets.
