Local Man Faces Charge in Jackson Circuit Court
Charles Boling of this city is free on $500 bond on a drawing a dangerous weapon charge filed in Jackson Circuit Court at Brownstown. He was arrested about 1:15 Sunday morning by Seymour state police and city night police after reports he drew a gun at a West Laurel street dance. He is jailed awaiting release on bond. Charles Arbuckle and Francis A. Goss were arrested on public intoxication charges on Carter street about 3:00 Sunday afternoon and fined $1 plus costs totaling $11 each in city court before Mayor Burkart. Louis Krepps was arrested Sunday morning on U S Route 50 east of Seymour for public intoxication and fined $1 plus costs totaling $9.75. Two men arraigned during the holiday in Browns town justice court, James F. Slattery of the WPA camp at Wallace, and C. F. Nicholson, both charged with public intoxication, were fined about $9 each.

Two Thefts Reported In Seymour Area
Two thefts were reported to Seymour city police over the weekend. Claud Carney of Brownstown said a jacket was stolen from his car on a downtown street on Christmas Eve. Harry Hoover reported a break in at a new South Poplar Street house Saturday night with a radio, a handsaw and a level taken. Entrance gained by breaking a basement window.

Minneapolis Janitor Performs Self Amputation After Stoker Mishap
Henry Dennett a 32 year old public school janitor at General Hospital underwent a self performed wrist amputation after his hand was crushed by a clogged stoker plunger on Christmas night. His doctor reported his condition improved and recovery possible barring infection. Dennett applied a tourniquet and used a pocket knife to remove the hand before calling for help.

Death of Sager 96, Jackson County farmer dies at home
John H. Sager aged ninety six of Seymour R4 Peter's Switch north of the city died Sunday after seven weeks illness. Funeral services were held at his son's home then at St. Paul's Congregational Church with Rev. Kenneth Murphy officiating. Burial followed in Riverview Cemetery. He was born September 15, 1842 in Germany and married Mary L. Mellencamp in 1869. Surviving are five children, two sisters, twenty two grandchildren, twenty nine great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild.
