N F Creamer and highway patrol set detours after U S Route 50 at Medora flooded to four feet. The unpaved state roads in Jackson county and Seymour sub district were unusually soft with White River rising two inches per hour, and heavy traffic barred on the affected routes. Funeral services for Albert H Burkhart age 40 superintendent of the Crothersville plant of Vincennes Packing were held at his Crothersville home with Rev J Cross officiating. A second service followed Monday in Plainville near Washington Indiana. Burkhart died Saturday at Schneck Memorial Hospital after an appendectomy and lockjaw complications. Car Hits Wagon on White River Bridge At Rockford
Three people were badly shaken but escaped injury when a car struck a wagon at the White River bridge in Rockford this morning. George Nuss Jr. drove the wagon owned by George Vehslage, sending it over an embankment with a team of mules. The wagon was wrecked and the car owned by Gordon Sympson of Bardstown Kentucky was damaged. A woman riding with Sympson escaped injury.
