A two-train collision at the Eighth street and Indianapolis avenue crossing left seven injured, none seriously, as a Pennsylvania passenger train and a C. M. St. P. & P. freight train derailed briefly. Fireman Alfred Peterson of Logansport suffered facial injuries while leaping to safety. Hundreds of holiday travelers were shaken but unharmed otherwise.

Traffic mainly moved to and from homes of friends and relatives, with the train wreck scene in north Seymour drawing some attention. Pasadena reports the death of W. C. Fields at 66 after months of liver and kidney illness. The vaudeville and film comic died in a sanitarium from a dropsical condition and had quipped with nurses hours before slipping into a coma. Born Claude William Dukinfield in Philadelphia in 1880, he rose from a $5 juggle act to the Ziegfeld Follies and later films.

Reliance Plant Grants Christmas Bonus and Vacation
