Safe Crackers Hit Immanuel Lutheran School
State police search burglars who entered Immanuel Lutheran School Thursday night. Intruders ripped a safe and raided the principal's office, taking about 575 dollars. Entry likely via boiler room door. the safe was dragged to a doorway and opened with a crowbar. Principal Robert Demske's office was pried open with another 1.50 missing. The discovery came at 7 am by janitor Edward Rueter, who alerted a school board member and then police. A suspected link to a similar Farm Bureau Co op burglary last Friday is noted.

Funeral Rites Today for Heltonville Undertaker Thurman
Funeral services for Thomas A. Thurman, Heltonville undertaker and farmer, were set for 2 30 pm at the Heltonville Methodist Church with Rev. Ray Banks officiating. Burial followed at Gliga Cemetery. Thurman died Wednesday in Indianapolis after a lengthy illness, a Lawrence county native and one of 11 children. He married Hovey Faubion in Louisville, Kentucky.
