Truck Driver Charged After Bridge Sideswipe Crash
West Lafayette man John P Perigo faces a leaving the scene of an accident charge in justice court after a sideswipe on U S Road 31 near the first bridge south of the Kriete curve. Archie Lovell of New Albany reported minor damage to his 1948 pickup, about 50 to 75 dollars. The incident occurred Tuesday morning. Perigo was apprehended in Scott county by Trooper Simmons.

Man Sentenced to Farm for Petit Larceny
John Krebs 24 of Seymour R2 was sentenced to six months on the Indiana state penal farm after pleading guilty to petit larceny. He was fined 100 dollars and 10 dollars in costs for allegedly entering Elmer Hildebrand’s Seymour home and stealing a quart of milk and a loaf of bread. Earlier, Charles Musick 30 of Butlerville Rl pleaded guilty to public intoxication and received 10 dollars fine and 10 dollars in costs.

County 4-H Corn Champion Named in Jackson County 1952
Marshall Otte of Hamilton township won the 1952 Jackson County 4-H Corn Club Championship representing Cortland Rovers 4-H Club. Milton L. Otte placed second and Edward Wessel was third. The show at Brownstown High School featured 28 participants who completed corn projects and raised 194 acres yielding 18,666 bushels with a profit of 10,758 dollars. Two cousins died when a 1949 coach veered off State Road 56 west of Salem about 9 50 PM Tuesday.
