Shots Fired at Roberts Service Station Window
State police and city officers investigated vandalism at 515 East Tipton Street where a large plate glass window at Roberts service station was shot full of holes. The station, owned by Dr. W. H. Shortridge and operated by Charles Roberts, was closed at the time.

Don A. Bollinger thanked workers in a letter, and a program included news shorts, Trail Street, an orchestra, and Santa Claus giving out candy and prizes.

Damages Awarded Against County in Jackson Circuit Court
Raymond Goen by next friend Henry Goen sued Jackson County Board of Commissioners for $1,000 damages after a June 25 1947 bicycle collision with a county stone truck driven by Burrell Maples on Fort Ritner road. The Jackson Circuit Court entered judgment Tuesday in Brownstown.

Atrocity Shop Tie Exchange Opens Friday
In San Francisco on December 24 a haberdashery will open a tie exchange allowing dads to trade in unwanted Christmas ties for a one dollar credit toward a conservative neckpiece.
