John Lyman Blish Dies Head of Local Milling Firm
John Lyman Blish age forty four president of the Blish Milling Company died at his West Sixth street home at 2 30 this morning after a week of illness. Funeral and burial at Riverview Cemetery will be private. Born January 27 1901 in Seymour he was a Yale graduate and married Frances Hogan in Indianapolis in 1926. He served ten years in the Indiana National Guard.

Vance Memorial Rites Held for War Hero
Memorial services for Staff Sergeant Harold C. Vance, killed November 4, 1944 when his B-17 was shot down over the North Sea, were held at the Church of the Nazarene with the Seymour American Legion present. Commander Forrest Herrmann gave an American flag to his widow, Mrs. Mary Kelly Vance. He enlisted in the Army Air Forces in August 1943 and left two children, Johnny and Judy, plus his mother Mrs. Maude Vance of 606 Noble Street.
