George N. Mannfeld of the state conservation department announces the open season ends Saturday for all wild game except rabbits and water fowl. Rabbits may be killed through Jan 9 1925, water fowl season ends Dec 31. Bag limits: wild duck fifteen daily, geese eight. Fur bearers may be trapped through Feb 10. Water fowl are only web footed birds like wild geese and brant. coots are rails, not water fowl.

Prisoner Escapes After Being Dared to Try
Thomas Carlton, an inmate, escaped from Maryland Penitentiary with Warden Claude Sweezey’s consent. Half an hour later Carlton rang the warden’s daughter to say he was out, admitting the escape and pledging to return, then slipped back into the prison after hiding under a motor truck.
