Two Accidents Reported Near State Roads 58 and 31
Two accidents were investigated. Charles Reed, 22, of Freetown R1, sustained head lacerations and other injuries when his 1948 coach left the road north of State Road 58 around 7:15 PM Monday. he was treated at Schneck Memorial Hospital and not admitted, saying he fell asleep. The car was a total loss valued at about $900. In a separate crash at the Rockford road and Alternate U. S. 31 intersection, Eddie Lyskowinski, 17, and Elizabeth Plummer, 16, escaped injury as their cars collided. Plummer was cited for disregarding a stop sign. Damage to Lyskowinski’s vehicle was about $700-$800 and Plummer’s car was a near total loss.

Hundreds of city children will attend a free Christmas party at the Majestic Theater Wednesday morning at 9. Santa Claus will hand out candy bags, and Legion ushers will supervise safety. The event is a yearly tradition under American Legion auspices with Majestic staff donating services. The Jamboree by Hoosier Range Riders netted 67.50 for under privileged children, funds to be closed tomorrow at noon.

One Car Damaged In Collision Downtown
A minor two car collision occurred in the 200 block of West Second Street this morning. Herbert Woodard, 25, driving west on Second, hit the car in front at Walnut Street as it paused at a light. The other driver was Henry Lee Ross, 29. Woodard reported he thought Ross would proceed through the caution light. Woodard’s front end sustained about $75 in damage. Ross’s car was undamaged.
