A three hour Christmas program sponsored by the Lions Club and local business group drew an estimated 1500 to 2000 people in Crothersville. Two Injured in Crash Near City
Jack Waggoner and Miss Bernice Snyder suffered slight injuries when their car left West Second street road near Hangman’s Crossing, struck two utility poles, and went over an embankment onto the Baltimore and Ohio tracks. They were treated at Schneck Memorial Hospital and released. Police officers Leighton and Christian investigated. the car was moved from the tracks before a train arrived. An earlier crossing collision injured a local girl.

Man Arrested In Stolen Auto Near Columbus
Walker Philbeck 32, of Livingston Kentucky, was arrested by Officer Richard Samuelson at Crothersville for stealing a 1939 automobile near Columbus after an earlier theft of a 1934 car near Indianapolis. Police recovered the abandoned vehicles and found extra keys. He was turned over to Bartholomew County Sheriff for Circuit Court proceedings on vehicle taking charges.

Man Fined 742 Dollars Ordered to Jail in Overweight Truck Case
Othnie Hiers of South Carolina pled guilty in Browns town before Judge George H. Gossman for operating a truck seven thousand three hundred pounds overweight on the third axle. He paid a 730 dollar fine plus 12.55 dollars costs. a second axle overweight charge was dismissed. He faces jail if the fine is not paid, with a two year period to satisfy it.
