Man Loses Foot in Seymour Crash on U S Route 31 50
A Wallonia man, Victor McMillan, 24, lost his left foot in a collision with a Pennsylvania Greyhound bus on U S Route 31 50 near Seymour. Miss Anita Trowbridge, 19, and Mrs. Mary Winkler, about unknown, were injured. Twenty eight bus passengers escaped injuries. Bus driver Loren Fisher, 30, reported braking and steering to pass the coupe prior to impact.

Seymour will observe Christmas Day in its traditional quiet manner. A kiddies Christmas party is set for Friday at 10 o clock at the Vondee Theater. There will be no downtown tree treats this year as proceeds fund Christmas baskets for needy families. Baskets to be distributed Christmas Eve. Obituary of Jacob Noblitt Sr longtime Seymour resident
Jacob Noblitt Sr aged 67 died at his Seymour area home on rural route 4 northeast of Boh town at 9 15 Wednesday night after a brief illness from hemorrhages. He was born March 21 1870 to Joel V and Elizabeth Cooley Noblitt and married Dora Jane Ehlers June 13 1890. He farmed most of his life, was a former Webstage Building janitor, and survived by wife Dora and seven children Lafe Bert Esther Jacob Elmer Irvin Elva plus two predeceased children. Funeral by Tower Funeral Home with Rev J Willard Yoder to officiate. burial time and place to be announced. calling after 7 pm tonight.

Forrest Carter of Indianapolis died at his home after a fall caused a head injury. The funeral service was held Friday at Planner Buchan Mortuary, with burial in Indianapolis. He was son of Charles and Ella Carter of Indianapolis and survived by wife, two sons, a brother, and a sister. He and his family operated the Carter Stone Company in Indianapolis and he belonged to the First Baptist Church.

Parachute Santa Hunted After Ocean Plunge
Army planes and police boats searched Boston Harbor for Corporal Harold J. Kramer of Winthrop after his parachute descent at Boston's airport turned fatal. The 35 year old veteran, making a Christmas appearance, bailed out at 1500 feet and was swept into the water as spectators watched. Two airport enlisted men narrowly escaped drowning when their skiff capsized during the rescue effort.

Ambler, Pa December 23 AP Harvey Gravell a stocky gray haired manufacturer circulated a plan for a $250 yearly dividend to every voter funded by a National Loan Association with eminent domain powers to seize bank stock and collect interest for distribution. He cited past Christmas bonuses of $75,000 and $0 000 given to employer families as evidence and claimed the idea would replace the present banking and tax system. He said the dividend would be pro rated to voters nationwide with the association collecting interest from banks and lending it back as payments.

Prisoners Mugged Near Lawrenceburg Face Roadside Pursuit
Three men captured near Lawrenceburg for alleged auto theft were brought to the Seymour state police post for mugging photos and fingerprints. They are Robert Thompson of Southgate Kentucky Carl Eisen of Cincinnati Ohio and Donald West of Newport Kentucky. They were captured by ten farmers after a motorist was robbed near Gilford. They will be returned to Lawrenceburg to face charges of auto banditry and armed robbery attempted.

Mrs Henley Dies After Month Long Illness at 63
Mrs Sarah A. Henley aged fifty five died at her home on South O Brien street near the city limits after a month of illness. She was born May 7 1892 in Lawrence county daughter of Solomon and Eliza Wineinger and married Willard Henley April 1 1903 in Brownstown. Survivors include her husband six children ten grandchildren four sisters and three brothers. Funeral services were held Sunday at Mt Zion Church near Brownstown with Rev Elmore Smith officiating. Burial followed in Mt Zion Cemetery. Friends may call at Voss Mortuary after 7 this evening.

Theft Probed After Billfold Is Lifted at Meeting
State police from the Seymour post investigate the theft of Fred W. Claycamp’s billfold five miles north of Cortland. The item was taken from his pocket during a farmers meeting at Shields High School auditorium Tuesday night. Cargo included about $5 in currency, checks totaling roughly $24, and tax receipts.

Hog prices rise at Farmers' Stockyard sale
Farmers selling hogs today received sixty five cents more per hundred pounds than those who sold two days ago. At the Farmers' Stockyard northeast of Seymour hogs in the 160 to 180 pound class brought 8.50 per hundred pounds, thirty five cents higher than Wednesday and sixty five cents higher than Tuesday.
