State Revenue Sharing Sought for Indiana Counties
Jackson County would receive 345 054 as part of a 54 million state revenue sharing plan if the 1978 Indiana General Assembly passes Representative Richard Bodines bill. The plan allocates four percent of gross sales taxes and four percent of income taxes to local taxing units including libraries and fire departments. Bodine says the state surplus will exceed 500 million by year end with remaining 450 million after funding. The bill also protects the Governor s property tax relief program.

Christmas Basket Fund tops $3963 in donations
The 59th annual drive, sponsored by American Legion Post 89 and the Seymour Daily Tribune, raised 129.70 yesterday and today to reach 3,963.72. The fund helps buy and deliver food baskets to needy residents. volunteers with wagons or trucks are urged to help Friday at 7 a.m. at the American Legion home.
