Seymour Community Schools board completed plans to dispose of the old Lincoln Riley and Washington school buildings. Riley sold to Seymour Manufacturing for 21000, Lincoln to be publicly sold Feb 7, and Washington leased to the city for 99 years. An adult education credit class named Secondary Learning Lab was approved for a second semester.

Cold Weather Persists With Likely Snow Flurries in Indiana
The National Weather Service in Indianapolis warns Jackson County residents to expect more cloudy cold weather tonight and Thursday with chances of snow flurries. A low pressure system moving east through the upper Great Lakes pushes below normal temperatures into the Hoosier state with lows near 10 degrees Thursday. A disgruntled airline mechanic surrendered after hijacking a DC8 in San Francisco for about 15 hours. Palm J Hinnant 37 was removed from the aircraft shortly after 6 30 a.m. One hostage Richard Funk 38 was rushed to Peninsula Hospital. The other hostage Jerry Dusenberry 42 was released unharmed about an hour earlier. Hinnant had slashed Dusenberry and forced both hostages aboard. he later asked where they would go. He faces jail.
